Do you live in a country where puppy mills are legal? Then please read this before buying a dog from a puppy mill or pet shop. I swear, this is IMPORTANT and you will not regret reading it. Take it seriously.
What is a puppy mill?
A puppy mill or mass breeder is a farm where many different breeds are being reproduced. The breeders say that it's all about
happy customers and happy dogs, but in fact, it's all about the money. They don't give a shit about the wellbeing of their dogs.
All those dogs have to do is produce puppies. Neither the parents, nor the pups, need to be healthy or beautiful, as long as
the puppies are cute enough to sell. Many breeding bitches look horrible. And not every pup survives for real vaccination
(not the fake shots mentioned in their health booklets) are expensive. Many of the puppies are ill or even aggressive or
afraid of everything. They lack socialization and individual care. A dog CANNOT go without!
They all promise you the same: healthy and sociable puppies of any breed. What you get is infact often the opposite: ILL pups
with little to no socialization and frequently not pure-bred at all. A friend of mine once bought a "Sehltie", well this
Sheltie is almost as huge as a Collie! My Tibet Terrier wasn't only HUGE, he was agressive and sick when we bought him 7
years ago when we didn't yet know better.
You're also promised a 2 years warranty on the dog you buy. Do NOT use it. Do NOT return the dog. It will most probably be
killed for it's evidence that this "breeder" sold you a "bad" dog. Plus, the condition will most likely be: take another dog
from that breeder and have it checked only by that breeder's vet who's just as corrupt. Also, it does NOT matter whether or
not the breeder/kennel/shop is recognized/registered. They are still criminals or at least they treat animals like garbage.
Also, never buy a puppy from a puppy mill or pet shop to "save" it. I know it's hard to resist, but you MUST resist! By buying that dog, you will give the merchand the money to buy 20 more dogs. As long as people buy such dogs for whatever reason, this disgusting business will flourish. DO NOT BUY!
How to recognize a puppy mill?
配he breeder breeds more than 3 breeds, resulting in having too many dogs as to be able to care for each one properly
配he breeder has puppies all the time or you can "order" puppies
釜ou often can't meet the puppies' parents. It's important though, for "as father as son"
迺t doesn't really look like the dogs are ever let out of their kennels or cages
配he bond between the breeder/seller and their dogs isn't as tight as it should be
配he puppies seem ill and/or fearful or aggressive
配he puppies seem younger than 8 weeks and should be with their mother, damnit!
迺f the seller/breeder isn't really talkactive and obviously has secrets
衹EVER BUY A DOG IN A PET SHOP!!!
